We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Care Specialist to join our team at Valor Healthcare, Inc. in New Braunfels. As a key member of our Community Based Outpatient Clinic (CBOC), you will play a critical role in providing exceptional patient care and support.

The estimated salary for this position is $43,000 - $55,000 per year, based on experience and location.

Job Description

In this role, you will assist with patient care, physical examinations, and ancillary tests as directed by physician or mid-level provider. You will also collaborate with the core PACT Team (Primary Care Provider, RN and Medical Assistant) and expanded PACT Team to develop patient care plans.

Responsibilities:
  • Actively assist with patient care, physical examinations, and ancillary tests.
  • Schedule clinic appointments and manage PCMM assignments.
  • Answer phones and relay messages in a timely manner.
  • Prepare and organize patient check-in lists and medication lists for the following day.
  • Collect lab specimens and operate diagnostic equipment.
  • Fulfill compliance requirements and achieve excellent clinical outcomes.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must have a diploma or certificate from an accredited program, preferably with certification in phlebotomy. A minimum of two years' experience as an MA in a related primary care or ambulatory care setting is also required. Strong computer skills, including EMR experience, are essential.

You must be able to remain in good standing through the Veterans Health Administration (VA) and comply with all requirements for a valid, unrestricted license in the state of desired employment.
