Cemetery Groundskeeper

About the Role

The Cemetery Groundskeeper at StoneMor is a dedicated, reliable, and hard-working individual who understands the importance of detail and providing the highest level of service to our customers. This critical role is responsible for the care, maintenance, and repairs of the property, as well as the safety and security of the employees and visitors of the location.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform all landscape maintenance duties, including weed-whacking, lawn mowing, and other related tasks.
• Maintain equipment and ensure it is in good working condition.
• Assist with funeral services and other functions related to the cemetery.
• Operate machinery safely and efficiently.
• Install or assist in installing cemetery vaults.
• Install headstones or memorials as needed.
• Handle day-to-day general maintenance duties.
• Perform snow removal duties (if applicable).
• Carry out other duties as assigned by the Grounds Superintendent.

Requirements

• High School equivalency required.
• 2+ years of experience in maintenance or a related field.
• Ability to operate maintenance equipment and machinery.
• Ability to read and execute memos and directives from supervisor and/or management.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to handle multiple tasks with interruptions.
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to lift up to 80lbs.
• Must possess a valid state driver's license.
