About the Role:

St. John's Episcopal Hospital is seeking a highly skilled Nurse Practitioner to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and working collaboratively with our physicians and staff to ensure the best possible outcomes for our patients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients of all ages for chronic and acute injuries, infections, and illnesses.
  • Obtain patient histories and perform physical examinations, order and interpret routine tests, and prescribe medication as needed.
  • Provide accurate and comprehensive documentation of patient encounters in the medical chart.
  • Formulate diagnostic and treatment plans, and prescribe and administer medications, therapies, suturing, and splinting as necessary.
  • Order labs and imaging tests to determine and manage an immediate treatment plan, and provide advice on follow-up care.
  • Collaborate with other members of the healthcare team to provide quality on-site care and appropriate information for post-discharge care.
  • Complete charts in a timely manner to comply with medical records standards and allow for billing for medical services.

Requirements:

  • 3600 hours of prior practice experience as a Nurse Practitioner, with industrial health preference.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience as a Registered Nurse, preferred.
  • N.Y.S. Registered Nurse licensure.
  • Graduate of a N.Y.S. Registered Nurse Practitioner Program.
  • Successful completion of pharmacy component.
  • Ability to lift and position patients as needed.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal/communication skills and the ability to work effectively with others on the team to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Organizational time management skills, as evidenced by capacity to multitask and prioritize work.
