SUPERVISOR: Assigned Educator
QUALIFICATIONS:
- A bachelor's degree from an accredited institution or an associate's degree with two years of college coursework, or 48 semester hours of college credit, or a high school diploma (or equivalent) with verified test results demonstrating proficiency in Applied Mathematics, Reading for Information, and Writing.
- Demonstrated proficiency in both written and verbal communication, along with mathematical skills.
- Ability to perform the required tasks effectively.
- Alternative qualifications may be considered as determined by the Board of Education.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist in executing classroom activities under the guidance of certified educators.
- Engage with small groups of learners to reinforce and revisit concepts initially presented by the educators.
- Provide individualized support to students requiring additional assistance.
- Facilitate independent study, enrichment tasks, remedial support, and follow-up activities as directed by the educators.
- Support educators with instructional activities, including reading sessions and storytelling.
- Review notebooks, assess and correct assignments, and oversee testing and make-up work.
- Assist educators with routine clerical tasks and classroom maintenance duties.
- Help prepare instructional materials for classroom use, including bulletin boards and other educational displays.
- Set up multimedia equipment for educational purposes.
- Support educators with non-instructional duties, such as snack breaks, restroom routines, and clothing assistance.
- Supervise small groups of students during library visits (under librarian supervision).
- Assist with student supervision during lunch periods, assemblies, and field trips.
- Uphold confidentiality of information as mandated by educational policies.
- Maintain high ethical and professional standards expected of all staff members.
- Participate in professional development and training as required by the State Department of Education.
- Carry out any additional responsibilities as assigned.
