SUPERVISOR: Assigned Educator

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A bachelor's degree from an accredited institution or an associate's degree with two years of college coursework, or 48 semester hours of college credit, or a high school diploma (or equivalent) with verified test results demonstrating proficiency in Applied Mathematics, Reading for Information, and Writing.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in both written and verbal communication, along with mathematical skills.
  • Ability to perform the required tasks effectively.
  • Alternative qualifications may be considered as determined by the Board of Education.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist in executing classroom activities under the guidance of certified educators.
  • Engage with small groups of learners to reinforce and revisit concepts initially presented by the educators.
  • Provide individualized support to students requiring additional assistance.
  • Facilitate independent study, enrichment tasks, remedial support, and follow-up activities as directed by the educators.
  • Support educators with instructional activities, including reading sessions and storytelling.
  • Review notebooks, assess and correct assignments, and oversee testing and make-up work.
  • Assist educators with routine clerical tasks and classroom maintenance duties.
  • Help prepare instructional materials for classroom use, including bulletin boards and other educational displays.
  • Set up multimedia equipment for educational purposes.
  • Support educators with non-instructional duties, such as snack breaks, restroom routines, and clothing assistance.
  • Supervise small groups of students during library visits (under librarian supervision).
  • Assist with student supervision during lunch periods, assemblies, and field trips.
  • Uphold confidentiality of information as mandated by educational policies.
  • Maintain high ethical and professional standards expected of all staff members.
  • Participate in professional development and training as required by the State Department of Education.
  • Carry out any additional responsibilities as assigned.
