Position Overview
As a Management Analyst, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Chief of Staff (CoS) in executing daily operational functions and managing various programs that influence the strategic objectives of the Department of Defense.

Key Responsibilities

Your typical assignments may include:

  • Assisting the CoS in overseeing mission-critical operations and advising senior leadership on management and operational strategies.
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant laws, executive orders, and regulations while executing responsibilities aligned with mission requirements.
  • Contributing to the development and refinement of program goals, methodologies, and resource allocations throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Managing personnel action requests, including recruitment, promotions, and reassignments, to ensure adherence to sound management practices.
Requirements

Conditions of Employment:

  • U.S. Citizenship is mandatory.
  • Registration with Selective Service is required for males born after a specific date.
  • This role may necessitate occasional travel both within and outside the continental United States.
  • Successful completion of a two-year trial period may be required.

Participation in the direct deposit program is required, and this position is subject to pre-employment and random drug testing. Candidates must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/SCI clearance.

Qualifications

To qualify for this position at the GG-14 level, candidates must possess:

  • One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GG-13 grade level in Federal service, demonstrating the ability to assist in the oversight and planning of management programs.
  • Experience in executing responsibilities in accordance with pertinent laws and regulations.
  • Consultative skills regarding proposed management actions, including policy interpretation.
  • Experience in managing personnel action requests effectively.

Volunteer work and experience in National Service programs are also considered valuable for this role.

Additional Information

This position is part of the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS) and is in the Excepted Service. Selection under this authority does not confer civil service competitive status.

Federal employees currently in the competitive service must acknowledge their voluntary departure from competitive service upon accepting this position.
