Job Title: Bar Tender

We are seeking a skilled Bar Tender to join our team at Lucille's BBQ in Valencia, CA. As a Bar Tender, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, preparing and serving beverages, and maintaining a clean and organized bar area.

Responsibilities:
  • Serve a section of the bar, including the service well, as determined by management
  • Work in a team environment with the ability to be an effective team player
  • Maintain complete knowledge of locations food and beverage offering and preparation and steps-of-service standards
  • Sell food and beverage items
  • Enter and complete guests orders on a point-of-sale computer system; accept various types of payment and make change
  • Interact with guests in a friendly and fast manner; ensure guests complete satisfaction and exceed their expectations
  • Mix, garnish, and serve alcoholic beverages and nonalcoholic beverages for guests of the bar and dining room area following standard recipes
  • Maintain organization, cleanliness, sanitation, and attractiveness of display in the back bar area
  • Carry and transport trays with beverages and/or plates
  • Clear and reset tables
  • Wash and sterilize stemware
  • Responsibly serve alcoholic beverages in accordance with Company, Federal, State, and local policies, procedures, regulations, and laws
  • Check identification of guests to ensure they are of legal age to consume alcoholic beverages; refuse to serve beverages in a polite manner to guests who are not of legal age
  • Observe guests behavior once they have consumed alcoholic beverages, count number of drinks served, and offer a taxi if you feel they should not drive; ask a manager for help with disorderly customers as needed
  • Take pride in personal appearance; report to work in neat and clean clothing; maintain well-groomed hair and personal hygiene as established by Company policy
  • Display integrity and honesty in all aspects of your employment

  • California food handlers card required
  • Basic mathematical skills; ability to handle cash to make change

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Two or more years of full-service restaurant service or bartending experience

The team member frequently carries trays up to 50 pounds and occasionally lifts and carries tubs and cases weighing up to 75 pounds. The team member must frequently communicate with guests and coworkers. The team member is occasionally exposed to hazards including, but not limited to, cuts from knives, slipping, tripping, falls, and burns; frequent exposure to smoke, steam, high temperatures, humidity, extreme cold; frequent contact/immersion of hands in water, sanitation solutions, meat products, poultry products, seafood, and produce items and frequent washing of hands. The noise level in the work environment is moderate to loud.
