We are collaborating with a forward-thinking clean technology firm that is revolutionizing mineral processing capabilities for essential minerals.

They are looking to expand their engineering team by hiring a process engineer with expertise in hydrometallurgy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the transition of laboratory processes to pilot and production scales, concentrating on enhancing metal recovery while minimizing costs and environmental impact.
  • Identify and address potential process risks.
  • Assess and refine process capabilities and controls, delivering samples to clients.
  • Perform process simulations and modeling to forecast behavior under various conditions.
  • Create comprehensive production guidelines, including standard operating procedures (SOPs), process flows, safety protocols, and quality standards.
  • Diagnose and enhance product, equipment, and process challenges during production.
  • Offer technical guidance and mentorship to junior scientists, engineers, and technical personnel.
  • Assist the R&D team and external collaborators in designing and conducting experiments for chemical process development.
  • Manage chemical process design from initial concept through to scaled production, ensuring quality at every stage.
  • Develop and model process designs for scale-up and cost assessment.

Qualifications and Experience:

Ideal candidates will possess:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Inorganic Chemistry, Material Science, or a related field, with a specific focus on hydrometallurgy and electrochemical processes.
  • 5-10 years of experience in Chemical Process Engineering.
  • Practical experience in scaling processes from research and development to production.
  • Proficiency in process modeling, utilizing tools such as Metsim and SysCad for development, control, and scale-up.
  • Experience in executing manufacturing scale-up and verification batches efficiently from bench scale to commercial production environments.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills to facilitate cross-functional process enhancements.
  • Robust analytical and quantitative abilities for addressing complex challenges and making informed decisions.
