Water Jet Machinist

We are seeking a skilled Water Jet Technician to join our precision manufacturing team at Aegis Worldwide.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining water jet cutting machines to produce high-quality components in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

• Set up and operate water jet cutting machines to cut various materials (e.g., metal, plastic, composites) following blueprints, technical drawings, and work orders.
• Adjust machine settings to ensure precision cuts based on material type and thickness.
• Interpret and verify part specifications, ensuring compliance with engineering designs and quality standards.
• Maintain equipment by performing routine maintenance and troubleshooting machine issues to minimize downtime.
• Monitor the cutting process and inspect finished parts to ensure quality and adherence to tolerances.
• Perform secondary operations, such as deburring, cleaning, or surface finishing of parts, as necessary.
• Collaborate with engineers, quality control personnel, and other machinists to ensure smooth production workflow.
• Ensure the safe handling of raw materials, tools, and machinery.
• Maintain accurate records of production activities and machine performance.
• Follow all company safety protocols and contribute to maintaining a clean and organized work environment.

• Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in water jet machining or a related machining role.
• Education: High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or vocational training in CNC machining or water jet operations is preferred.
• Technical Skills:
  • Proficient in operating water jet cutting machines (e.g., OMAX, Flow, or similar).
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, CAD drawings, and technical specifications.
  • Strong understanding of machine shop mathematics, including geometric tolerances.
  • Knowledge of material properties and how different materials respond to water jet cutting.
• Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to lift and move materials and equipment up to [insert weight, typically 50 lbs].
  • Stand, bend, and work for extended periods.
  • Good hand-eye coordination and attention to detail.

• Experience with CAD/CAM software for programming cutting paths.
• Prior experience in a high-precision manufacturing environment.
