Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Commodities Director to join our team at Smithfield Foods. As a key member of our Commodities Leadership, you will be responsible for the strategic operation of our Commodities team, analyzing and researching commodity markets relevant to our business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and conduct fundamental and technical market research and analysis on commodities relevant to Smithfield.
  • Report and interpret relevant data on price and supply and demand factors for core commodities both in the US and globally.
  • Develop and execute forward-thinking hedging strategies across a range of commodity exposures.
  • Aggregate key data from internal and external sources; communicating findings to key stakeholders and driving future market strategy.
  • Provide leadership for our Risk Management Team, helping to lead, grow, and develop team members.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited four-year college or university in Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related field, and 10+ years' relevant experience.
  • 5+ years of demonstrated experience in team management and development.
  • Strong analytical, logic, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to interpret and communicate results.
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Excel and ability to run extensive reports and queries.
