Job Title: Sterile Processing Specialist - Instrument Technician

About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sterile Processing Specialist - Instrument Technician to join our team at Baylor Scott & White Health. As a vital member of our Sterile Processing department, you will play a critical role in ensuring the highest standards of patient care by processing, maintaining, and sterilizing medical instruments and equipment.

About You:
To be successful in this role, you should have a strong background in sterile processing, with experience in decontamination, sterilization, and instrument maintenance. You should also possess excellent communication and teamwork skills, as well as a commitment to upholding the highest standards of quality and safety.

Responsibilities:
This is a full-time position working 40 hours per week, with a regular schedule of Monday through Friday, 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM. The ideal candidate will have a strong ability to multitask, prioritize tasks effectively, and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities Include:
• Decontaminating and sterilizing medical instruments and equipment according to established protocols and procedures
• Maintaining accurate records of instrument processing and sterilization activities
• Collaborating with other team members to ensure seamless operation of the Sterile Processing department
• Troubleshooting equipment issues and performing routine maintenance tasks
• Assisting with training and orientation of new staff members

Qualifications:
Our ideal candidate will hold a high school diploma or equivalent and have a minimum of 2 years of experience in sterile processing. A certification in Central Service Technology (CST) or Sterile Processing and Distribution (SPD) is preferred.
