Join us for the Radiology Nurse - Interventional Procedures PRN position.
Job Summary and Qualifications
Demonstrates proficiency in sedation medications, reversal agents, and monitoring equipment in line with sedation protocols and procedures.
Exhibits critical care capabilities and is adept at assessing and intervening to sustain the patient's physiological stability. Is skilled in administering conscious sedation/analgesia and other necessary medications for patient care. Possesses sterile technique skills essential for assisting in minor procedures.

Responsible for patient preparation, possessing knowledge of lab values, allergies, and the need for pre-medications or treatments, as well as the patient's medical history.

Capable of assisting with equipment setup prior to procedures.
Ensures optimal functionality of emergency support equipment and conducts daily checks while maintaining a log.

Coordinates patient scheduling and transportation with other departments and bed control, effectively communicating specific patient needs promptly.

Provides patient education before and after procedures.
Completes all documentation in accordance with JCAHO standards and nursing protocols as dictated by hospital policies.
Demonstrates familiarity with departmental computer systems, including but not limited to Meditech and PACS.

Assists in the care and preparation of interventional patients, competent in sterile technique, able to don sterile gowns and gloves, and maintain a sterile environment for procedures.

Meets on-call/callback requirements as dictated by departmental needs.
Conducts daily checks on blood glucose monitoring equipment, performs environmental rounds, and assists with room turnover between patients.

Qualifications:
- Minimum of three years of experience as a registered nurse.
- One year of critical care experience is strongly preferred; significant ER experience will also be considered, along with prior radiology nursing experience.
- Graduate of an AMA-approved School of Nursing.
- Current Nursing registration with the State of Virginia or a compact license.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
