EMS Telecommunications Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled EMS Telecommunications Specialist to join our team at Northern Light Health. As a key member of our communications team, you will be responsible for receiving and processing emergency and non-emergency transport requests in a timely and accurate manner.

• Process emergency and non-emergency transport requests in accordance with client protocols
• Maintain accurate and timely written communications
• Provide highest quality customer service and care to patients, families, and other professionals
• Monitor radio communications for updates to vehicle status and use proper radio etiquette
• Provide clear and concise directions to patients and families
• Communicate effectively with employees, customers, public safety agencies, and Communication Center clients
• Make timely notifications to supervisory and management staff regarding issues of importance or concern
• Offer suggestions for improvement of system through proper channels of communication
• Relay thorough and complete shift turnover to on-coming dispatcher
• Demonstrate teamwork and diplomacy

• High School Diploma, GED, or international equivalent preferred
• Experience in ambulance/911 dispatching or call center work preferred
• Current Maine licensure as an Emergency Medical Technician or Emergency Medical Dispatcher preferred
• Basic computer skills, including ability to power on computer, use mouse, use keyboard, and shut down computer properly
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Windows OS preferred
