Key Responsibilities- Staff Management: Manage adequate staffing levels, including call-offs, to ensure necessary staff levels are maintained.
- Leadership and Guidance: Assist Unit Managers in evaluating nursing staff through observation, assessment studies, and review of attendance and performance records and nursing documentation.
- Resident Care: Perform rounds, conduct resident annual health updates, complete resident nursing assessments, and develop Resident Care Plans.
- Quality Assurance: Participate in the Quality Assurance Program, promote compliance in all aspects, and assist in orientation of new employees.
- Incident Reporting: Investigate employee and resident incident reports.
The successful candidate will provide direct supervision to Registered Nurses, Licensed Professional Nurses, Certified Nurse Assistants, Nursing Assistant Trainees, and Unit Secretaries.
Requirements- Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree (BSN) from a four-year college or university preferred; or Associates Degree (A.A.) from a two-year college or nursing school with three (3) years of clinical nursing experience within the past five (5) years.
- Knowledge: Knowledge of 1199SEIU United Healthcare Workers East (SEIU) and New York State Nurses Association (NYSNA) contracts and Bertrand Chaffee Hospital and Jennie B. Richmond Nursing Home Handbook.
