College of DuPage is seeking adjunct faculty members to teach Eye Care Assistant and Ophthalmic Technician courses. As an adjunct faculty member, you will be responsible for course planning and instruction in classroom, lab, or clinical settings. Courses may be conducted in various delivery modes, such as face-to-face, online, hybrid, and/or blended formats.

In addition to teaching, adjunct faculty are responsible for student evaluation and timely submission of required paperwork related to instruction. A minimum of a bachelor's degree in the field and/or a combination of education, training, and tested experience is required. Joint Commission on Allied Health Personnel in Ophthalmology (JCAHPO) Certification Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) or Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT) or Certified Ophthalmic Medical Technologist (COMT) is also required. A minimum of 5 years of work experience in Ophthalmology hospital systems or clinics as a COA, COT, or COMT is required.

Ability to teach remotely with technology and experience in online or virtual teaching is preferred. Access to personal technology, a home computer with the ability to teach online is required. These positions are paid by stipends for course assignments. A pre-employment background check at the College's expense is required.
