Job Summary
The Clinical Nurse Coordinator (CNC) plays a vital role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care in the Operating Room. This dynamic individual will collaborate with the management team to direct, monitor, and evaluate nursing care, serving as a resource person for staff and modeling a commitment to our organization's vision, mission, and values.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with admission and discharge processes to ensure efficient throughput and high-quality patient care.
- Participate in the ongoing assessment of the quality of patient care services provided in the unit, in collaboration with other members of the management team.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts and other managers to create an environment of teamwork that supports improved outcomes and service.
- Support a patient-first philosophy and engage in service recovery when necessary.
- Support the efforts of the facility to improve engagement by operationalizing current nursing strategies, including employee rounding, hourly rounds, and other initiatives.
- Provide recommendations related to interviewing, selecting, and training new staff, as well as implementing courses of action to ensure a competitively better organization.
- Assist with staff scheduling and manage all practical aspects of staff labor in accordance with patient care needs and established productivity guidelines.
- Support proper inventory control and assist with managing supplies and equipment.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing/BSN
- Minimum 2 years of experience in an Operating Room setting, preferably in an ambulatory surgery center
- Two years of supervisor experience
- Additional specialty experience may be required as per facility practices (e.g., Pediatric, GI, etc.)
- Active RN license as required by state of employment or appropriate compact licensure
- Required valid BCLS Certification upon employment
- ACLS, PALS, and/or other certifications as required for patient care area and by facility
