About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Summer Health and Wellness Team Member to join our team at the Jewish Community Center of Denver's Ranch Camp. As a Summer Health and Wellness Team Member, you will play a vital role in supporting the health and well-being of our campers and staff.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the Health Center team with daily tasks and responsibilities, including medication administration and camper/staff treatment.
  • Log and report all camper and staff visits to the clinic, including incidents, illnesses, and medication administration, in the CampMinder system.
  • Maintain compliance with Colorado Residential Camp Licensing Codes regarding medication storage and medical facilities.
  • Assist with health screenings for all campers.
  • Collaborate with the Camper Care Team to ensure effective communication about camper incidents and illnesses with parents and caregivers.
  • Act as the first line of defense for campers and staff who visit the health center.
  • Drive UTV to camp programs and events across the camp property.
  • Contribute to the medical team, understanding that this environment may be different from traditional care facilities and can be hectic at times.
  • Participate in Staff Orientations and live on-site during the summer season.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
  • Ride horses, swim, camp, play games, sing songs, roast s'mores, and engage in various activities with campers.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you should have:

Basic Requirements:

  • Be at least 21 years old.
  • Possess active EMT, WFR, or paramedic certification.
  • Satisfactorily fulfill employment requirements at the Staenberg-Loup JCC, including background screening, three references, documentation, and compliance with CDHS law.
  • Exhibit high energy, enthusiasm, creativity, and an open-minded attitude.
  • Hold a valid driver's license.
  • Have prior experience working with children, preferably in a camp setting.
  • CPR/First Aid Certification.
  • Ability to lift or body block campers when necessary.
  • Operative auditory and visual functioning.
  • Capacity to walk up to two miles daily, including use of stairs and uneven terrain.
  • Physical stamina to stand, sit, run, and swim as needed.
  • Ability to work in indoor and outdoor environments, sometimes with loud spaces and under the sun.
  • Capacity to maintain the standard of care in a hectic and stressful environment.

Compensation: $3,000 - $3,800 per month.
