About the Job:
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Physical Therapist to join our team at Stony Brook University Hospital. As a Physical Therapist, you will be responsible for planning and executing rehabilitation programs to help patients return to a higher level of physical function after an accident or surgery.
Responsibilities:
- Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients with disorders that limit their abilities to move or function normally in daily life.
- Assist patients in managing or lessening pain through a combination of physical activity, reflexology, massage, and muscular and skeletal manipulation.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to help patients achieve optimal physical function and independence.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care to patients.
- Document patient progress and communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
Requirements:
- Master's degree in physical therapy from an accredited program required.
- Doctoral degree in Physical Therapy preferred.
- Licensed New York State Physical Therapist required.
- CPR/BLS certification mandatory.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
