About the Job:

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Physical Therapist to join our team at Stony Brook University Hospital. As a Physical Therapist, you will be responsible for planning and executing rehabilitation programs to help patients return to a higher level of physical function after an accident or surgery.

Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients with disorders that limit their abilities to move or function normally in daily life.
  • Assist patients in managing or lessening pain through a combination of physical activity, reflexology, massage, and muscular and skeletal manipulation.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to help patients achieve optimal physical function and independence.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care to patients.
  • Document patient progress and communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in physical therapy from an accredited program required.
  • Doctoral degree in Physical Therapy preferred.
  • Licensed New York State Physical Therapist required.
  • CPR/BLS certification mandatory.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
