Job Overview:
As a SAP Infrastructure Specialist at GE Aerospace, you will take charge of all facets associated with SAP Basis management and oversee the support functions for the SAP ecosystem.
This position demands a robust technical foundation to propose innovative technologies, improve current systems, and act as the go-to expert in these domains.
You will collaborate closely with digital technology application teams, security, architecture, and vendor partners to achieve the goals of modernizing the order to remittance business processes through an advanced ERP framework.
These goals are essential for empowering the Edison Works division to enhance operational scalability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, prepare, and implement SAP applications on corporate servers.
- Create the server architecture and ensure optimal distribution of technology workloads.
- Configure and troubleshoot software logistics effectively.
- Address any performance or startup challenges arising from installations.
- Schedule, execute, and supervise backups and restorations of SAP file systems.
- Manage and test disaster recovery and high availability solutions for SAP servers.
- Establish and maintain STMS configuration.
- Set up and manage printers within the SAP environment.
- Oversee the ChaRM setup, create ChaRM cycles, or utilize third-party tools to facilitate change management.
- Support all release management activities related to Basis functions, including transport movements to quality and production systems, while documenting changes appropriately.
- Manage system refreshes, copies, and the creation of new SAP systems from snapshots.
- Monitor system performance and implement necessary actions to mitigate performance issues.
- Apply add-ons and support packages as needed.
- Configure and operate the system landscape efficiently.
Qualifications:
To qualify for this role, candidates should possess a Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution with a minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience, or an Associate degree with at least 8 years of experience, or a High School diploma with a minimum of 10 years of professional experience.
Applicants must have a minimum of 10 years of professional experience in SAP Basis administration and infrastructure management.
Due to the nature of the work, this position requires the individual to obtain and maintain U.S. Government Security Clearance.
Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is mandatory; sponsorship for employment visas is not available for this position.
Desired Skills:
- Experience with SAP ECC, HANA, and Oracle databases.
- Ability to set and drive both functional and technical direction.
- Familiarity with the ITIL framework, having applied it in at least one prior project.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities; able to assess information/data effectively for decision-making.
- High energy and enthusiasm, thriving in a dynamic environment.
- Experience working on cross-functional teams, with an understanding of business priorities and organizational dynamics.
- Ability to collaborate with global teams, working independently as well as part of a team.

This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. Final offers will be contingent upon the ability to obtain authorization for access to such information from the U.S. Government.
