Job Summary

Fresenius Medical Care North America is seeking a highly skilled Physician Assistant to join our team. As a key member of our clinical team, you will provide medical services under the supervision of a licensed physician, working closely with patients, facility staff, and physicians to deliver exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform physician-approved procedures independently and during more complex procedures, with the physician's guidance.
  • Assist the physician by obtaining patient histories and performing physical exams, conducting pre-procedure medical assessments, and coordinating with scheduling staff to schedule patients for office hours and procedures.
  • Coordinate and review results of diagnostic procedures, laboratory tests, and other patient studies and medical reports to consult with the physician in determining the course of treatment.
  • Provide education to patients and their families regarding medical findings and procedures, and make follow-up telephone calls to patients as clinically appropriate.
  • Draw up intravenous medication and label as per Medication Labeling Policy, and perform invasive procedures under the supervision of a licensed physician.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree plus graduate of AMA-recognized physician assistant training program.
  • NCCPA certification upon hire and renewal as per State Regulations, ACLS certification, and CPR certification.
  • State Physician Assistant License in the state of practice.
  • 8-12 years' related experience, or a Master's degree with 6 years' experience, or a PhD with 3 years' experience, or equivalent directly related work experience.
  • Five years of varied technical/procedural skills/experience in diagnostic radiography, with interventional procedure experience preferred.

Day-to-day work includes desk and personal computer work, interaction with patients, facility staff, and physicians. The position requires travel between assigned facilities and various locations within the community, with occasional travel to regional, Business Unit, and Corporate meetings.

The work environment is characteristic of a healthcare facility with air temperature control and moderate noise levels. May be exposed to infectious and contagious diseases/materials. Majority of time spent on feet, with substantial amount of pushing, pulling, lifting, and positioning of patients.
