We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Charge Nurse to join our team at Fresenius Medical Care North America. As a Charge Nurse, you will be responsible for providing leadership and guidance to our direct patient care staff, ensuring the delivery of safe and effective patient care.
Key Responsibilities- Provide day-to-day guidance and support to direct patient care staff, including informal feedback and formal performance evaluations.
- Participate in department staffing and make recommendations for hiring, firing, and disciplinary actions.
- Ensure compliance with company and facility policies, as well as regulations set forth by state and federal agencies.
- Approve or disapprove time or personnel schedule changes, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations and policies.
- Participate in patient care plan meetings and maintain knowledge of current practices related to dialysis.
- Train and orient staff as needed, and promote efficient use of medical supplies.
- Attend and participate in monthly Quality Assurance meetings, and assist with special projects or other duties as assigned.
- Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing (R.N.)
- Registered and licensed to practice in the applicable State
- Minimum of 12 months of nursing experience, plus 6 months of specialized experience providing clinical nursing care to dialysis patients
- Medical/surgical nursing preferred, with supervisory or management experience also preferred
- Certified in CPR or successfully complete course in CPR certification
The work environment is characteristic of a health care facility with air temperature control and moderate noise levels. May be exposed to infectious and contagious diseases/materials. Travel to regional, Business Unit and Corporate meetings may be required.
