We are seeking a skilled Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) to join our team at our Harker Heights location in Texas.
About the Role:This is an exciting opportunity for a medical professional to work in a fast-paced plasma donation center environment. As a Medical Support Specialist, you will be responsible for determining donor eligibility, managing donor adverse events, reviewing laboratory test results, and notifying donors of unsuitable test results.
You will work under the guidance of the Center Manager and the management of the Center Physician for operational and medical issues. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently.
Key Responsibilities:Determine donor eligibility by conducting interviews, reviewing medical history, and performing physical examinations.
Manage donor adverse events, including responding to emergencies and following established protocols.
Review laboratory test results and notify donors of unsuitable test results.
Support the Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees.
Manage employee incidents and refer to EHS guidance when necessary.
Support investigations associated with pandemic threats within the local community.
High school diploma or equivalent, including a graduate-level nursing program with state requirements.
Current licensure or certification as an EMT-Paramedic in the state where responsibilities will be assigned.
Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and AED certification.
Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy.
Satisfactorily complete FDA-approved training requirements for BioLife Medical Support Specialist.
Two years of experience in a clinical or hospital setting.
