At Access Services, we're committed to providing a supportive environment for children with mental health challenges. As a Children's Respite Provider, you'll play a vital role in ensuring their well-being and providing a temporary home for them.
**What is Children's Respite?**
Children's Respite is a temporary care arrangement where a child with a mental health challenge stays with a host family. This allows their primary caregiver to take a break and focus on their own wellness.
**Types of Respite**
We offer two types of respite: Planned Respite and Emergency Respite. Planned Respite is scheduled in advance, giving the child and host family time to prepare. Emergency Respite is used in crisis situations where a child needs a safe and stable environment immediately.
**Requirements**
To become a Children's Respite Provider, you must:
* Be at least 21 years old
* Have a suitable home or apartment
* Obtain PA Criminal, PA Child Abuse, and FBI Clearances for all household members 18 and older
* Complete trainings to support the child's health and well-being
* Undergo a physical exam
