Senior Healthcare Architect/Specialist
The individual in this position leverages advanced architectural principles and innovative designs across diverse projects, overseeing and enhancing the effectiveness of CPL's architectural teams.
The Senior Architect/Specialist independently explores, assesses, and proposes technical design strategies that fulfill and surpass client expectations for assigned projects. Often designated as a specialist, this role requires in-depth expertise and is recognized as a subject matter authority. Reporting to a Project Manager or Principal, you will provide expert guidance throughout the planning, design, and coordination of intricate assignments, undertaking unique projects that necessitate the creation of new or refined methodologies.
Key Qualifications
- A professional degree in Architecture with a minimum of eight (8) years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Registered Architect (RA) status is required.
- LEED and WELL certifications are advantageous but not mandatory.
- Proficiency in Revit, Microsoft Office Suite, InDesign, Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUp, and other 3D visualization software.
- Strong understanding of regulatory codes, standards, and project planning processes.
- Able to work autonomously and collaboratively on multiple projects simultaneously.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills for effective communication with clients, consultants, and internal teams.
- Foundational knowledge of construction techniques/materials and sustainable design practices.
Core Responsibilities
- Oversee architectural tasks throughout each project phase, assigning responsibilities to team members and managing workloads effectively.
- Engage in client discussions during all design and construction stages.
- Facilitate design and contract documentation sessions in collaboration with other disciplines and practice teams.
- Draft and refine architectural specifications based on independent analysis and design expertise.
- Regularly consult with Project Managers at project milestones to ensure design quality and compliance.
- Research applicable codes, guidelines, and regulations to uphold best design practices.
- Coordinate and submit all multi-disciplinary documents for necessary approvals, bidding, and construction.
- Actively participate in construction administration, including generating supplemental instructions, change directives, and responses to requests for information (RFIs).
- Supervisory responsibilities, including resource and personnel management:
- Delegate tasks and oversee the work of Engineering Technicians or interns.
- Encourage and support the development of CPL team members through mentorship and feedback.
- Engage in career development discussions with team members on a regular basis.
- Motivate and lead stakeholders to formulate strategies and plans that align with organizational goals.
