Dental Hygienist Job Description

At GoTu, we're seeking a skilled Dental Hygienist to join our community of healthcare professionals. As a Dental Hygienist, you'll play a vital role in promoting oral health and preventing disease in our patients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform dental prophylaxis, provide oral cancer screening, and radiographic studies
  • Prepare patients for dental hygiene treatment, including welcoming, seating, and draping
  • Provide information to patients and employees, answering questions and requests
  • Maintain instrumentation for dental hygiene treatment, sharpening, sterilizing, and selecting instruments
  • Select materials and equipment for dental hygiene visits, evaluating patients' oral health
  • Complete dental prophylaxis, cleaning deposits and stains from teeth and beneath gum margins
  • Detect disease, completing oral cancer screening, feeling and visually examining gums, using probes to locate periodontal disease and assess levels of recession, and exposing and developing radiographic studies
  • Arrest dental decay, applying fluorides and other cavity-preventing agents
Requirements:
  • Active dental hygiene license in PA
  • Knowledge of dental procedures and terminology
  • Understanding of HIPAA regulations and ability to maintain patient confidentiality
  • Excellent communication skills to educate patients on oral health care practice
