Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist

We are seeking a highly skilled Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) to join our team at Advocate Health. As a CRNA, you will be responsible for providing high-quality anesthesia care to patients undergoing surgical procedures.
Key Responsibilities- Provide pre-anesthesia, anesthesia, and post-anesthesia services to patients, including general, regional, and monitored anesthesia care.
- Manage patient conditions based on clinical indication, evidence-based care, cost effectiveness, and assessment of risks/benefits and alternatives.
- Participate in preoperative evaluation, including assessment, exam, obtaining informed consent, ordering/administering pre-medications, and reviewing preoperative studies.
- Ensure readiness and availability of equipment, supplies, and medications to perform the planned anesthetic.
- Deliver anesthesia care, including induction, maintenance, support of life functions, and emergence from anesthesia.
- Select, obtain, and administer the necessary anesthetics, adjuvant drugs, fluids, and temperature regulating devices to manage the anesthetic.
- Perform post-anesthesia duties, including remaining with the patient, facilitating safe transfer of care to other qualified individuals, administering post-operative epidural pain relief, and making post-anesthetic visits regarding the presence or absence of anesthesia-related complications.
- Manage emergency situations by assessing, stabilizing, and determining disposition of patients, including providing advanced airway management, administration of emergency drugs and fluids, and using basic and advanced cardiac life support techniques.
- Active RN and APRN/APRN-FPA/APNP or other APRN license(s) in state(s) of practice.
- Active national board certification as CRNA by nationally certifying board (NBCRNA).
- Active DEA registration prior to hire.
- Active Illinois Controlled Substance License prior to hire (if Illinois practice).
- Active ACLS, PALS, NRP as required by clinical site/practice and/or role prior to or within 6 months of hire.
- Demonstrated high level of clinical proficiency and excellent decision-making skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as an effective member of a healthcare team.
- Demonstrated ability to adapt to evolving technology and proficiency with the electronic medical record.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to effectively collaborate with and establish/build relationships with others.
- Proven organizational skills and ability to prioritize effectively.
- Must have functional vision and hearing.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. from floor to waist, lift up to 20 lbs. over the head, carry up to 40 lbs. a reasonable distance, push/pull with 30 lbs. of force, and perform a sliding transfer of 150 lbs. with a second person present.
- Will be required to use foot pedals on carts or machines.
- Will be exposed to mechanical, electrical, chemical, radiation, blood, and body fluids on a continuous basis.
- Must be able to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, reach above shoulders, and twist frequently during work shift.
