We are seeking a highly skilled Ultrasound Sonographer to join our team at the Center for Orthopedic Research and Education. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging department, you will be responsible for performing high-quality ultrasound examinations and providing exceptional patient care.
Key Responsibilities- Examination Preparation: Prepare patients for ultrasound examinations by applying gel, positioning them on the table, and explaining procedures.
- Image Acquisition: Select and adjust sonographic equipment settings to obtain clear images for diagnostic purposes.
- Image Interpretation: Select and examine images to identify differences between healthy and pathological areas, and determine if the scope of the exam should be extended.
- Reporting and Documentation: Present sonograms and preliminary findings to physicians, complete documentation, and maintain patient histories and medical records.
- Assisting Physicians: Assist physicians and healthcare teams during invasive procedures and provide medical support as needed.
- Equipment Maintenance: Maintain and clean sonographic equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Quality Control: Perform quantity and quality control checks to ensure unit meets standards required by laws, rules, and departmental policies.
- Supply Management: Maintain supplies and ensure adequate inventory levels.
- Education: Associate's degree in sonography from an accredited school.
- Certifications: Current state and ARDMS certification with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers, BLS Certification.
- Experience: 2-3 years of experience as a Sonographer in a hospital or clinic environment, with experience performing superficial venous insufficiency studies and assisting/observing vein ablations.
- Preferred Qualifications: RVT or RVS registry.
