Job SummaryThis role performs advanced fuels-related problem-solving in support of nuclear plant operations. The successful candidate will possess superior knowledge in functional discipline and its practical application and regulations, functioning with recognized industry-level expertise in a technical area.
The primary duties and accountabilities of this position include performing advanced nuclear engineering and technical tasks in support of nuclear plant operations, providing in-depth technical expertise to develop, manage, and implement nuclear engineering activities related to plant safety, reliability, maintainability, and availability.
Key Responsibilities- Perform independent research, reviews, studies, and analyses in support of technical projects.
- Provide technical expertise and consultation through direct involvement to identify and resolve equipment and system problems.
- Recommend new concepts and techniques to improve performance, simplify operations, reduce costs, or comply with changes in codes or regulations.
- Support plant design modifications, testing, and problem-solving, as necessary.
- Assure all nuclear engineering products prepared or overseen are in accordance with applicable safety analyses, industry codes, and all regulatory requirements.
To be successful in this role, you will need a B.S. degree in Engineering or a Licensed Professional Engineer, with 10+ years of engineering experience and exceptional performance. You will also need demonstrated solid or better results for at least 2 years and meet all Fuels IIIA and IIIB criteria.
Placement into this classification requires Nuclear Fuels Director, Director Human Resources, and VP Nuclear Fuels approval. Preferred qualifications include Professional Engineering Registration, advanced technical degree or coursework, Nuclear Engineering Degree, and Holds Qualified Nuclear Engineering (QNE) or Sr. Reactor Operator Certifications/License.
