Position Overview

Vets Pets is seeking skilled Emergency Veterinary Technicians or Assistants to enhance our dedicated team. Our commitment is to deliver outstanding veterinary services to safeguard the health of your cherished pets.

This full-time role consists of 12-hour day shifts and encompasses a range of duties:

  • Implementing prescribed patient care protocols, including IV catheter placement, blood draws, medication administration, wound care, and diagnostic evaluations.
  • Communicating treatment strategies clearly to pet owners and meticulously maintaining digital medical records.
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues to provide exceptional care and effective problem resolution.
  • Employing EzyVet software for efficient management of patient data.
  • Exercising sound judgment to ensure superior care while knowing when to seek assistance.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Delivering nursing support for critically ill animals in partnership with veterinarians.
  • Engaging in nurse rounds and assessing emergency situations.
  • Conducting diagnostic tests, monitoring vital signs, and administering necessary treatments.
  • Performing various procedures, including catheter placements, blood draws, and wound management.
  • Providing guidance to pet owners on care practices and upholding isolation measures for infectious cases.
  • Preparing animals for anesthesia and overseeing their recovery process.
  • Assisting in critical care interventions as required.
