The Mixologist fosters a welcoming environment by interacting with patrons, taking drink orders, and crafting a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, along with light fare, to residents and visitors, all while adhering to Atria Senior Living standards. This role requires a keen memory for guest names and preferences, as well as the creativity to develop unique drink recipes. Furthermore, the individual is accountable for the overall presentation of the Cocktail Lounge.
- Deliver exceptional customer service consistently.
- Anticipate guest needs, respond swiftly, and acknowledge all patrons, regardless of the time or busyness.
- Maintain thorough knowledge of the cocktail lounge and dining operations, including proper table settings and dress codes.
- Serve meals and beverages to residents and guests as requested.
- Uphold a comprehensive understanding of state liquor laws, particularly those concerning service to minors and intoxicated individuals.
- Follow Quality Enhancement standards and adhere to food safety protocols.
- Stay informed about the characteristics and descriptions of all wines and beverages offered.
- Master the use of Toast and/or POS systems, including manual processes.
- Process transactions accurately through the POS system.
- Comply with all cash handling and credit policies.
- Ensure accurate entry of drink orders from servers into the POS system before serving.
- Maintain comprehensive knowledge of menu items, pricing, preparation methods, key ingredients, and quality standards.
- Set tables according to Atria standards.
- Open and close the Cocktail Lounge following established checklists.
- Understand the correct maintenance and operation of equipment, using it solely for its intended purpose.
- Ensure the cleanliness and aesthetic appeal of the Cocktail Lounge.
- Oversee and maintain the cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of the bar area and service spaces.
- Guide and assist barbacks and servers in their roles to ensure seamless service.
- Clearly communicate last call to guests and staff at the designated closing time.
- Accurately document items on the waste log as required.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience in customer service.
- Must be at least twenty-one (21) years of age, as required by law.
- Food handling certification where applicable.
- Certification in responsible beverage service where applicable.
- Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Strong organizational, multitasking, time management, and customer service abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
