We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Catering Associate to join our team at Yale New Haven Health. As a Catering Associate, you will play a critical role in ensuring the timely and accurate assembly of patient trays, as well as delivering and picking up food trays to patient rooms and/or cafeteria style food service for patients.
Key Responsibilities- Exhibit a pleasant and cheerful demeanor when interacting with patients, staff, and other departments within the hospital.
- Maintain a clean, sanitary working environment, adhering to the clean as you go policy and demonstrating knowledge of proper chemical usage and MSDS.
- Utilize equipment in performing job functions as per department safety procedures, including pushing and pulling food delivery trucks.
- Respond to patient needs at all times, resolving concerns or complaints immediately and/or reporting needed assistance to supervisor as appropriate.
- Represent the department to all areas of the hospital in a positive manner, using established customer relation techniques.
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- One year of food service experience preferred.
- Strong communication skills required (verbal, reading, and writing) in order to follow written and verbal instructions and interact with patients and staff.
- Good customer service skills.
- Proficient in basic mathematical skills for simple computations.
The Catering Associate will work in a fast-paced environment with moderate physical activity, requiring the ability to stand and walk more than 4 hours per day, with the ability to lift, push, and pull carts, pallets, and food supplies (occasionally up to 50 pounds, frequently up to 30 pounds, and/or continuously up to 10 pounds).
CompensationThis position is covered by the Teamsters Collective Bargaining Agreement. The minimum hourly rate is $15.69, and the maximum hourly rate is $25.95.
