Job Title: Medical Scribe

Job Summary:

Shasta Community Health Center is seeking a highly skilled Medical Scribe to assist our healthcare providers in documenting patient information accurately and efficiently. As a Medical Scribe, you will play a vital role in enhancing the productivity and efficiency of our clinicians, while ensuring that patient records are complete and up-to-date.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Accompany clinicians into patient examination areas to transcribe medical histories and physical examinations.
  • Document patient procedures, lab results, and other relevant information in the electronic health record system.
  • Utilize various templates and documentation techniques to ensure accurate and efficient documentation.
  • Transcribe consultations, discussions with family members, and other relevant information.
  • Complete patient charts by transcribing lab results, x-rays, and other evaluations.
  • Order in-house testing, immunizations, lab testing, and diagnostic testing as needed.
  • Generate referrals and list proper diagnoses, follow-up instructions, and prescriptions as dictated by clinicians.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; 2-year college education or 1 year of experience in a healthcare field preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and ability to type 45 WPM or greater.
  • Computer proficiency in Windows environment and ability to quickly learn new applications.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and maintain confidentiality of patient information.
