Nurse Practitioner Role

The Nurse Practitioner will work as an integral part of the Clinical Team at Steppingstone Inc, providing high-quality patient care and services. This role requires a strong commitment to delivering exceptional healthcare outcomes and a passion for working in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities- Evaluate the physiological, neurological, and psychopharmacological status of consumers, assessing the need for medications and monitoring their effectiveness.
- Prescribe and monitor medications for consumers suffering from mental health, substance abuse disorders, and co-occurring diagnoses.
- Provide a wide range of primary, acute, and specialty services, including direct psychotherapy and case consultations.
- Record and examine medical history, diagnoses, and symptoms of consumers, maintaining accurate and complete case notes.
- Maintain an ongoing awareness of consumer mental status, adding additional services as needed to maintain a therapeutic level of care.
- Complete all required documentation in a timely manner, including program recordkeeping and filing.
- Provide telephone coverage for the assigned program and direct calls to other programs as needed.
- Participate in required supervisions, staff meetings, and trainings, as well as investigations conducted by internal and external agencies.
- Use a computer to input information into the electronic health record and perform other administrative tasks.
- Remain awake during shifts at all times and attend all mandatory trainings.
- Comply with established protocol for medication management and distribution, as well as reporting guidelines by deadlines.
- Follow all safety protocols, including fire drills and emergency procedures, to ensure a safe workplace.
- Hold an advanced practice degree from an accredited college or university.
- Have current prescriptive authority and a DEA number in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
- Be a licensed Registered Nurse/Advanced Practicing Nurse in Massachusetts with three years of experience in community health settings.
- Meet continuing education requirements to satisfy regulatory, accreditation, and agency requirements.
- Work in a busy and dynamic environment with a focus on delivering exceptional patient care.
- Ensure safety through fire drills and emergency procedures, as well as maintaining a safe and clean program.
- Abide by health and safety requirements, including Tuberculosis (TB) screening and the disposal of hazardous waste.
- Have good vision and the ability to hear, either with or without assistive devices.
- Be able to communicate information effectively to others both verbally and in writing.
- Have some manual dexterity and manipulative ability to carry out applicable aspects of position responsibilities.
- Be able to climb three flights of stairs and quickly move throughout the facility in carrying out applicable aspects of position responsibilities.
