They work closely with the unit's multidisciplinary team, including intensivists, fellows, residents, advanced practice providers, pharmacy, physical therapy, and nursing.

Job Summary:
Under the direction and supervision of the responsible Registered Nurse (RN), the nurse assistant performs specific patient care duties to meet the safety and comfort needs of the patient. They provide input to assist the RN in planning and implementing patient care. The nurse assistant responds to emergent situations according to established procedures and recognizes the importance of continuing education.

Requirements:
High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent required. Must meet one of the following criteria: completion of a Nurse Assistant program, completion of a Medical Assistant program with or without experience, or currently enrolled in a nursing program and have successfully completed the Fundamentals of Nursing course.

Preferred Qualifications:
Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) license preferred. Complete BLS Heartsaver Certification during orientation.
