Crisis Shelter Support Specialist

Position Summary:
The Crisis Shelter Support Specialist plays a crucial role in delivering comprehensive assessments, developing individualized case plans, and ensuring access to essential services such as housing, healthcare, addiction recovery programs, and employment resources, all under the guidance of the Program Manager. This position is dedicated to empowering individuals to attain stability and self-sufficiency.
Transportation Requirements:
- Must have reliable personal transportation
- Valid driver's license and auto insurance are mandatory
- Willingness to travel as required during work hours
Training Requirements:
- Certification in CPR and First Aid is essential
- Training in Non-Violent Crisis Intervention is required
- Additional training sessions may be necessary
Supervisory Role:
- This position does not include supervisory duties
Qualifications:
- Education: A Bachelor's degree in human services or a related discipline
- Experience in case management or with at-risk populations is preferred
Knowledge and Skills:
- Focus on conducting assessments, creating case plans, and facilitating resource access
Key Responsibilities:
- Conducting intake assessments and service planning for clients
- Providing referrals and support throughout the housing process
- Assisting clients in accessing healthcare and benefits
- Maintaining documentation and collaborating with team members
Work Environment and Requirements:
- Work is performed in a shelter environment
- Involves the use of office equipment and direct client interaction
- Physical ability to manage filing, typing, and communication tasks
- Potential exposure to cleaning agents and emergency medical situations
