About the Job

The Optometrist will conduct comprehensive eye exams for Acuity Eyecare Group and strive to practice to the full capacity of their license. The Optometrist will support practice growth by establishing strong patient relationships and educating patients on eyecare best practices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conducting thorough eye exams to diagnose sight problems and eye diseases
  • Establishing long-term patient relationships through proper patient care and education
  • Performing verbal interviews with patients to determine health and ocular history, medical issues, and visual wants and needs
  • Instructing and advising patients on options for remediation of ametropias, systemic and ocular disease, and visual wants and needs
  • Prescribing eyeglasses, contact lenses, and medications as needed
  • Providing pre- and postoperative care to patients undergoing eye surgery
  • Evaluating patients for the presence of diseases such as diabetes and referring patients to other healthcare providers as necessary
  • Promoting eye health through counseling and education
Requirements
  • Doctorate of Optometry from a credentialed institution
  • Must have passed all optometric state boards
