Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and oversee the preparation of exceptional dishes.
- Coordinate and manage kitchen personnel, ensuring effective workflow and task delegation.
- Maintain a pristine and organized kitchen atmosphere.
- Guarantee consistency in food quality, presentation, and compliance with culinary standards.
- Conduct regular taste tests and assessments to uphold excellence.
- Recruit, train, and guide kitchen staff on culinary techniques, safety protocols, and sanitation practices.
- Encourage a culture of ongoing learning and professional growth.
- Monitor and evaluate staff performance through consistent coaching, conducting performance assessments, and addressing employee concerns, escalating issues when necessary.
- Schedule and manage shifts, ensuring sufficient staffing levels to meet operational demands.
- Oversee the timely and precise preparation of menu items during service.
- Manage inventory levels and procure supplies as required.
- Implement cost-control strategies to optimize kitchen expenditures.
- Enforce company policies, procedures, and health and food safety regulations.
- Collaborate on special events, catering, and kitchen-related initiatives.
- Address kitchen-related challenges swiftly and effectively.
- Provide leadership in the absence of the Culinary Director.
- 3+ years of demonstrated experience in a Sous Chef or senior kitchen position.
- Strong understanding of culinary techniques and flavor profiles.
- Proficient in timekeeping and scheduling.
- Knowledgeable in food safety and health regulations.
- Customer-focused.
- Ability to effectively manage employee relations.
- Strong business and financial acumen.
- Familiarity with regulatory compliance requirements related to wages, hours, and scheduling.
- Ability to excel in a fast-paced, high-pressure kitchen environment.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
