Job Title: Superintendent

The Superintendent is a key role within Shipyard Staffing LLC, responsible for overseeing specific projects from planning to completion. This position requires strong leadership and organizational skills to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Project Planning: Define and develop production execution plans for assigned projects, ensuring close support to customers and consideration of WIM departments and resources.
  • Financial Management: Approve purchases and expenditures related to projects, meet margin goals, and monitor expenditures against revenue.
  • Scheduling and Coordination: Develop and monitor project schedules, create project work plans, and identify resources needed.
  • Customer Satisfaction: Monitor customer satisfaction during and after project completion, and follow up with customers on satisfaction with project.
  • Team Management: Direct and advise team members, including foremen, leads, and skilled trades, to ensure effective project execution.
Requirements:
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalency preferred.
  • Experience: 5+ years of experience in ship repair/fabrication experience.
  • Credentials: Ability to obtain Rapid Gate/DBIDS Credential for access to USN Facilities.
  • Skills: Excellent communication and organizational skills, attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and strong computer skills.
Working Conditions:
  • Environment: Open-air conditions, including noisy, hot, cold, and office-controlled environments.
  • Physical Demands: May require standing on various surfaces, bending, crouching, climbing, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Travel: Some travel may be required (~10% per year on average).
