Job Summary

Main Industries is seeking a reliable and experienced CDL Driver Class A to join our team at our Hampton location. As a CDL Driver Class A, you will be responsible for transporting equipment and materials over land to and from manufacturing plants or retail and distribution centers.

Responsibilities
  • Transportation: Safely transport equipment and materials over land to and from manufacturing plants or retail and distribution centers.
  • Vehicle Maintenance: Inspect vehicles for mechanical items and safety issues and perform preventative maintenance.
  • Route Planning: Plan routes and meet delivery schedules.
  • Documentation: Document and log work/rest periods and kilometers spent driving and retain fuel/toll receipts.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Comply with truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking and break periods) as well as with company policies and procedures.
  • Loading and Unloading: Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions.
  • Delivery Instructions: Collect and verify delivery instructions.
  • Reporting: Report defects, accidents or violations.
  • Additional Responsibilities: Additional responsibilities may include scaffold racking and stacking, scaffolding handling in a chain line, loading and unloading scaffolding from the truck, and/or scaffold inventory.
Requirements
  • Age: Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Driving Experience: Must be able to drive operate a Manual.
  • Work Experience: Proven work experience as a truck driver.
  • Technical Skills: Hands on experience with electronic equipment and software (GPS, AVL units, CB, etc.).
  • Physical Demands: Ability to drive long hours and travel regularly.
  • Knowledge: Extensive knowledge of applicable DOT truck driving rules and regulations.
  • Background: No recent moving or driving violations.
  • Adaptability: Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations (traffic, weather conditions, etc.).
  • Background Checks: Willing to submit to background/drug checks and provide employment recommendations.
  • License: Valid truck driving license.
  • Physical Ability: Experience working in a physically demanding environment, confined spaces and working at heights.
  • Communication: Understand and carry out verbal directions given by supervisor.
  • Safety: Understand and obey all posted warning, caution, notification and/or hazards signs posted on a job site.
  • Lifting: Must be able to lift 50 lbs. without assistance.
  • Forklift Training: Forklift training/certification a plus (additional training will be required once hired for those using a forklift).
  • Height: Must be able to climb and work at elevated heights, 50+ feet.
  • Background Check: A criminal background check may be required.
  • Transportation: Reliable transportation a must.
  • Working Hours: Normal Working Hours 6am-2:30pm Monday- Friday.
