Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated individual to join our team as the High School Student Activities Director. In this role, you will work closely with student leaders, teaching them how to plan and execute events that promote school pride and unity.

Job Description / Essential Elements:

  • POSITION CLASSIFICATION: High School Teacher (Grades 9-12)
  • Brief Description of Position Supervision Exercised or Received
  • Teaches, as part of a high school teaching assignment, one or more classes in a given subject area in grades 9-12 and designee. May plan and coordinate the work of specified classified personnel as assigned.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

  • Student Progress Toward Established Achievement Standards
  • Teaches skills, knowledge, concepts and attitudes in the subject area(s), utilizing approved courses of studies and other appropriate learning activities, which will allow students to meet the established standards of achievement for a given grade level.
  • Develops instructional plans to organize class activities to provide maximum learning opportunities throughout the timespan of a course and which will allow students to meet the established standards of student achievement for a given grade level.

Other Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maintains lesson plans, seating charts and instructional materials in such a way that they can be utilized by substitute teaching personnel when the need arises.
  • Develops knowledge and skills essential to teach effectively in two or more curriculum disciplines and maintain professional competence through inservice education activities provided by the District and/or self-selected professional growth activities.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Teach the leadership class, and providing students with the skills and knowledge to plan and organize school events.
  • Create and maintain partnerships with community organizations to enhance the school's resources and opportunities for students.
  • Oversee the Associated Student Body (ASB) budget, ensuring that funds are allocated appropriately for various activities.

Requirements / Qualifications

  • Possession of a valid credential issued by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing is preferred.
  • Candidates in the process of completing their credential program are encouraged to apply and indicate within their supporting documents when they anticipate program completion.
