Job Summary

As a Roll-Off Driver with Inland Waste Solutions, you will be responsible for safely operating a heavy-duty truck and transporting large mobile open top and compactor containers to disposal sites, transfer or recycle facilities, and customer locations.

You will navigate through various environments, including driveways, alleyways, lots, and high-traffic roadways, while operating in tight overhead spaces.

Highly skilled backing maneuvers are essential for this role.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Operate vehicle in accordance with Orion Waste Solutions Safety Absolutes, OSHA, and DOT requirements, as well as all local, municipal, state, and federal laws.
  • Perform pre- and post-trip inspections of assigned equipment and document checks on standard DVIR.
  • Immediately report any unsafe situations or service-related issues to Route Manager or Dispatch.
  • Attend and participate in all scheduled training programs, briefings, and meetings required by Orion Waste Solutions or Route Manager.
  • Work closely with Route Managers to improve route efficiencies and identify best practices.
  • Notify Route Manager of any incidents, accidents, injuries, or property damage.
  • Notify Route Manager or Dispatch of service interruptions, including blocked containers, closed lots, streets, alleyways, or potential safety hazards.
  • Communicate customer requests to Route Manager or Dispatch.
  • Identify and report all containers in need of repair or replacement.
  • Complete and submit customer tickets as required.
  • Position and/or return containers on customers' properties in a manner that ensures lids and/or doors are properly replaced, and do not block driveway entrances or traffic.
  • Follow route assignments as directed and complete end-of-day documentation.
  • Perform all duties as scheduled by Route Manager or Dispatch and assist other drivers as directed to meet customer needs.
