Controller and Financial Leader

Boston Engineering Corporation is seeking an experienced Controller and financial leader to join our team. As a trusted advisor, you will lead the financial and human resources operations of our cutting-edge consulting company.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage all accounting operations, including payroll, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and general ledger.
  • Analyze financial data and present accurate and timely financial reports to senior management.
  • Provide financial leadership for annual budgeting and planning by collecting, analyzing, and consolidating data.
  • Achieve budget objectives by scheduling expenditures, analyzing variances, and initiating corrective actions.
  • Oversee and manage month and year-end financial reporting close processes.
  • Prepare financial analysis for contract negotiations and product investment decisions.
  • Ensure compliance with government contracting regulations, including Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA) requirements.
  • Prepare for and coordinate audits, including DCAA audits and other government agency audits.
  • Manage all human resources operations, including personnel, benefits, performance, and training.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field, MBA or CPA preferred.
  • 10+ years of accounting experience, 5+ years in a consulting organization.
  • 4+ years managing staff.
  • Government cost accounting experience required.
  • In-depth knowledge of government contracting regulations, including FAR and DCAA requirements.
  • Experience managing finance and contracts teams in accounting for projects according to FAR and DCAA guidelines.
  • Strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
  • Understanding of human resources and compliance.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Proficiency in Unanet, ERP systems, and MS Office.
