We are seeking a skilled Recreational Therapist to join our team at Wexford Health Sources, Inc. in a correctional setting. As a Recreational Therapist, you will play a vital role in providing treatment services to improve offender health and well-being through recreational therapy.
Key Responsibilities- Plan and apply therapeutic interventions to promote physical and emotional well-being
- Evaluate needs to develop recreational interventions that cater to diverse offender populations
- Participate in treatment team meetings to ensure comprehensive care
- Develop and conduct recreational programs that promote socialization, relaxation, and stress reduction
- Communicate effectively with ancillary departments to ensure seamless care coordination
- Maintain confidentiality of inmate records and adhere to strict security protocols
- Certification as a Recreational Therapist (CTRS) from a recognized accrediting agency
- Current CPR certification from a reputable organization
- Correctional experience preferred, but not required
- Bachelor's degree in Therapeutic Recreation or a related field
