Nuclear Medicine Tech PRN Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Nuclear Medicine Tech PRN to provide high-quality patient care and contribute to the success of Parkridge Medical Center, a leading healthcare provider in the nation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform and maintain all accreditations for the hot lab, ensuring compliance with regulatory guidelines.
  • Create a department on-call schedule for staff, ensuring adequate coverage and minimizing disruptions.
  • Supervise nuclear technologists, providing guidance and resolving questions and issues in a timely manner.
  • Perform nuclear medicine exams following established protocols and in a timely manner, ensuring accurate and detailed reports.
  • Receive, calibrate, log, administer, and monitor radioactive isotopes, adhering to established policies and procedures.
  • Provide radiation safety support in the event of a radiation incident or spill, ensuring a safe environment for patients and staff.
  • Maintain accurate, detailed records and reports, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Record patients' medical information, ensuring confidentiality and accuracy.
  • Coordinate patient flow, ensuring all exams are complete and patients are treated efficiently.
  • Inform patients about procedures and answer questions, providing clear and concise information.
  • Interact and professionally communicate with co-workers, physicians, patients, and family members, ensuring a positive patient experience.
  • Maintain all licenses, certifications, and accreditations required, ensuring compliance with regulatory guidelines.
  • Adhere to the facility ICARE values, demonstrating a commitment to patient-centered care.
  • Prepare patients for and assist with examinations or treatments, ensuring a safe and comfortable environment.
  • Prepare education for patients on discharge instructions, ensuring clear and concise information.
  • Demonstrate the ability to perform technical skills and procedures, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Be knowledgeable in the handling of radioactive materials, ensuring compliance with regulatory guidelines.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of human growth and development, assessment, range of treatment, and care of patients appropriate to the ages of patients served.
  • Properly measure radioactive waste and know how to dispose of it properly in accordance with regulatory guidelines.
Requirements
  • Graduation from an accredited school of Nuclear Medicine.
  • Current registry by CNMT or ARRT (N) is required.
  • BLS required.
  • PET CT experience preferred.
