Shipping Clerk

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Shipping Clerk to join our team at Prairie Farms Dairy, Inc. This is a full-time position that offers a competitive salary of $45,000 - $60,000 per year.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the shipment of all products, preparing and processing outgoing shipments, verifying and recording shipping information, and ensuring that all shipments are accurately and efficiently dispatched.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare Shipments: Arrange for transportation, schedule deliveries, and prepare all necessary shipping documentation.
  • Verify Shipments: Inspect and verify the quantity and quality of items being shipped, compare identifying information and counts, weigh or measure items of outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records, record shipment data for reporting, accounting, and record-keeping purposes.
  • Inventory / Clerical Management: Maintain accurate records of all inventory and stock, monitor and manage inventory levels to ensure that shipments are accurate and timely, update Share Drive & Tracker reports, complete Add/ Cut Reports.
  • Customer Service: Communicate with customers regarding shipping issues or discrepancies, resolve customer complaints and answer inquiries about shipping policies and procedures, input & invoice customer orders, receive PO's and inbound shipments, communicate with sales and delivery, cooler department and others as needed.
Qualifications:

We are looking for candidates with a high school diploma or equivalent, prior experience in shipping, logistics, or a related field, familiarity with shipping software, logistics management, and carrier systems, strong attention to detail and organizational skills, ability to work independently and manage time effectively, proficiency in using computers and shipping-related software, excellent communication and customer service skills, ability to lift and carry heavy items as needed.
