About the Role

At SMALL STEPS NURTURING CENTER, we are seeking a dedicated and passionate Early Childhood Educator to join our team. This is a full-time position that requires a strong commitment to providing high-quality educational experiences for young children.

Job Summary

We are looking for an individual who shares our vision of creating a nurturing environment that fosters social, emotional, physical, intellectual, and spiritual growth in economically at-risk children and their families. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 1 year of experience working with children and hold a Child Development Associate Credential (or equivalent) or an associate degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field.

Responsibilities
  • Planning & Instruction:
    • Develop engaging lesson plans and materials to promote learning and development
    • Implement curricula aligned with national accreditation and licensing standards
    • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure seamless transitions and continuity in education
    • Participate in home visits and parent conferences to support student growth
  • Student & Family Services:
    • Create a positive classroom environment that promotes respect, diversity, and inclusivity
    • Manage classroom procedures and student behavior using SET for Life principles
    • Communicate effectively with parents, students, and staff to ensure clear expectations and goals
  • Training & Collaborative Partnerships:
    • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills
    • Collaborate with colleagues to assess student progress and develop strategies for improvement
    • Pursue opportunities for growth and development within the organization

  • Skills & Abilities:
    • High School Diploma or GED and Child Development Associate Credential (or equivalent) or associate degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field
    • Minimum 1 year of experience working with children
    • Microsoft Office proficiency
    • CDA Credential preferred

Compensation

The salary range for this position is approximately $25,000.00 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
