About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Professional Geoscientist to join our team at Stantec. As a key member of our environmental services group, you will play a critical role in supporting our clients in the southeast region.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct environmental assessments, field investigations, and remediation/abatement of soil, groundwater, soil vapor, and hazardous building materials.
  • Develop and implement site health and safety plans, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate and assist with scheduling field investigations, including overnight travel and regional, national, and international travel as needed.
  • Prepare reports, including Phase I Environmental Site Assessments, sampling and analysis reports, and regulatory submittals.
  • Oversee and conduct field data collection, sampling events, and field analysis, including soil, soil vapor, and groundwater sampling events and field investigations.
  • Perform aquifer testing and groundwater flow evaluations, and compile and analyze data to inform project decisions.
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary project teams to achieve project goals, ensuring the quality of all work and product deliverables.
Requirements
  • A current Professional Geologist license or the ability to immediately apply for licensure.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Strong analytical skills, with attention to detail and the ability to recognize discrepancies.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, with both clients and project team members.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and responsibilities concurrently, meeting strict project deadlines.
  • Good driving record and valid driver's license required.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office productivity software.
  • Familiarity with GIS, CADD, and database software preferred.
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Geology, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Civil Engineering, or related field.
  • 5-10 years of relevant experience in environmental consulting or a related field.
