Job Summary
The Medical Laboratory Specialist performs routine and specialized laboratory tests and other procedures for use in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases. Utilizing state-of-the-art equipment and computer systems, the specialist evaluates and reports patient results using considerable independent judgment within the scope of established testing methods.
Responsibilities
- Performs quality control procedures and contributes to the maintenance of laboratory equipment and supplies.
- Assists in the development and implementation of new procedures and instrumentation.
- Trains new employees and/or students in the theoretical and operational aspects of procedures and serves as a resource for less experienced staff.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- 2 Years Clinical - Clinical Laboratory - Moderate and High Complexity Testing Required - Or Equivalent Education Requirement
- Bachelor's Degree Clinical Laboratory Science Or Medical Technology Required - Or Associate's Degree Medical Laboratory Technology Or Bachelor's Degree Related Field Required - With Required Licensure/Certification - And With Equivalent Experience
- American Society for Clinical Pathology Or National Credentialing Agency for Laboratory Personnel Certification Required - Or Equivalent Education Requirement
Work Schedule
- Saturday, Sunday, Monday/ 7pm -7am
- As Needed
- None
