Job Description

At Three Rivers Casino Resort/CTCLUSI, we are seeking a highly skilled Laboratory Technician I to join our team. As a key member of our Environmental Program, you will be responsible for conducting biological and microbiological testing in our state-of-the-art laboratory.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct testing activities for environmental matrices and cultural materials to protect human health and the environment.
  • Lead biological and microbiological applications and analysis of environmental and forensic samples using advanced instrumentation.
  • Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment, including microscopes, FlowCam Cyano, bacteria incubators, spectrophotometer, and qPCR.
  • Perform biological isolations and chemical extractions of various sample types and analyze them using standard methods.
  • Support the development and implementation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for laboratory activities.
  • Assist in grant applications, budget preparation, and grant reporting.
  • Contribute to the development of the Quality Management System and assist in achieving ISO 17025 accreditation.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Science in Chemistry or Biology, or a related discipline.
  • 2 years' or more experience in biological and microbiological testing.
  • Experience with health and safety in laboratory environments.
  • Knowledge of ISO standards and ASTM standards.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Masters of Science in Chemistry, Biology, or a related discipline.
  • Experience with DNA/RNA extraction and analysis, qPCR instrumentation, and fluorescence-based analysis.
  • Working knowledge of Treatment in the Same Manner as a State (TAS) and Clean Air Act and Clean Water Act.
