Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Culinary Service Professional to join our team at The Homestead Assisted Living. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional dining experiences to our residents.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Director of Culinary Service in planning, directing, and controlling the culinary service department.
  • Respond to resident preferences and maintain high resident satisfaction by ensuring that all foods are prepared to their liking and in accordance with safe food handling practices.
  • Maintain food temperatures and time controls during storage, production, and serving according to required food safety standards.
  • Circulate in the dining room to ascertain resident preferences and satisfaction with meals.
  • Maintain a clean kitchen and dining area.
  • Foster teamwork with co-workers, show initiative in overcoming obstacles, take actions to assist others beyond job responsibilities, and have a positive impact on co-workers, residents, and visitors.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or needed.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Must have compassion for and desire to work with seniors
  • One year of experience in food service
  • Obtain Food Handlers Permit (as required by state regulation)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, personnel skills, and community relations skills
  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Must meet all health requirements, including Health screening and TB clearance
  • Must pass a drug screen and state-required fingerprinting and criminal background process
  • First Aide certification

Preferred:

  • Three years of experience in food service
