Position Overview:
We are seeking a Clinical Neuropsychologist to provide essential support services aimed at fulfilling the operational goals of the National Institute of Mental Health. This role involves delivering services and outputs through effective support mechanisms. This is a full-time position.

  • Create innovative protocol-specific assessments in collaboration with Government personnel. Tailored evaluations may encompass computerized tests designed to measure specific patient capabilities, such as reaction time, olfactory testing, or speech assessments. The Contractor will leverage extensive knowledge of neuropsychological testing and contemporary literature to guide Government staff on suitable testing methodologies to meet protocol objectives.
  • Collaborate with research teams on various activities, including organizing and maintaining participant data and neuropsychological test results in databases; conducting preliminary data analyses using statistical software; and assisting in the compilation of research findings for publication as per the Government's timeline.
  • Offer expert advice on study design, analysis, and the application of psychological tools.
  • Conduct in-person neuropsychological assessments for clinical and research protocols, supporting the NIH intramural research program under the guidance of clinical neuropsychologists and in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  • Perform interviews with research participants and their families, administer and accurately score tests (or supervise testing conducted by trainees), interpret neuropsychological data, and effectively communicate findings both orally and in writing.
  • Assessments will include standardized and validated tests across various neuropsychological domains, such as attention, language, memory, visuospatial skills, executive functioning, personality, and mood.
  • Document evaluations in the patient's electronic medical record, ensuring timely reports that detail the history of presenting issues, tests administered, quantitative results, and interpretations based on best practices in the neuropsychology field.

Qualifications:

  • PhD in Psychology
  • American Board of Clinical Psychology (ABCP) License
  • At least three (3) years of clinical psychology experience
  • Background in clinical trial management
  • Experience working with diverse populations (children, adolescents, adults, elderly)
  • Proficiency in family interventions, clinical assessments, and making appropriate referral recommendations
  • Experience in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
  • Familiarity with Interpersonal Therapy (IPT)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with the National Institute of Health (NIH) is preferred.
